How I Got Started
I began riding motorcycles when I was 6
years old on a Honda Trail 50. From the first
time I rode a motorcycle I was hooked. From
the age of 6 to 22 I rode around my dad's
shop and at the track we have built behind my parents house. It was just a hobby that I
loved to do.
In 1999 I decided to give racing a try. I
started out racing motocross at the local
Hanford track. I liked it, but I just never felt at home. My dad had raced flat track around the Central Valley of California in the 70's and he always told me I would be a natural at it. In
2002 I took his advice and raced my first flat
track race. I LOVED IT! Not only was it so
much fun, but the people were wonderful and
I knew I had found the racing I was meant to
do.
Since then I have progressed to the expert
level and now race throughout the state of California. My oldest son AJ started racing
when he was 4 and is the current AMA West
Coast Amateur Champ in the 50 class. My
middle son, Jeremy, will race his first full
season in 2009 aboard his XR50 and make a
run at the West Coast Vintage Dirt Track
Series title. My dad has also made a return
after a 30-year retirement. He races in the
500 Support class on a TT500 that we built together. It is wonderful to be out on the
track with my dad and sons, and I look
forward to my other boy and the racing
career we have ahead.
